The Catalina Club Series quickly became a top seller after its market introduction in the early 2000s.
Gretsch decided not to follow beaten tracks when they started the series - drums were produced outside the USA for the first time and mahogany shells were used - but still, they stayed true to their traditions while introducing a drum set for an attractive price.
